These cards were inspired by my daily walk in the woods with our chocolate lab Marley. I often stop to look at the beautiful majestic trees along our path. They are mostly pine trees where we are, and it is magical to see these true giants swaying on a windy day.
This card features the Winter Woods stamp set- one of my favourites. It can really be used at any time of year. I have stamped off the leaves for the background (from the Rooted in Nature stamp set) The birch tree trunks are just stamped several times along the 3″ x 4 1/4″ piece of whisper white card stock. It is layered up with Sahara Sand (4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″) and Basic Gray card stock (4 1/4″ x 3 1/2″).
I then punched out a leaf using the leaf punch. I added the Happy Birthday sentiment using dimensionals.
Here is a completely different looking card using the same Winter Woods stamp set.
For this card I heat embossed the trees using white embossing powder. It is a simple but elegant card and the ladies at card class loved it! The base card stock is Balmy Blue (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″) The white layer is 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and the smaller blue layer is 4″ x 3 1/4″. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set – also heat embossed using white powder. The bow is strands from the White Flax Ribbon. This would be a very easy card to mass produce if you are sending out a lot of Christmas cards.
All the items used in these cards are available in my store.
