My garden is in full bloom right now- and it provides me with lots of inspiration for card designs and colours! These daisies look just like the ones in the new Daisy Lane Stamp Set (#149325) with coordinating Medium Daisy Punch (#149517) (. (Save 10% when you buy the Daisy Lane Bundle #151118!) The Larger Daisy Punch (#143713) is still available in the current catalogue. It is so fun to use them both together to easily add dimension to your cards!
These cards also feature the new Birch Background Stamp (#149256)- a must have if you are like to add a touch of nature to your cards. Now that the woodgrain paper is no longer available- this is a wonderful addition to your background stamp collection.
I sat down to play with this new stamp set and punch- and just couldn’t put it down! It is so easy to make beautiful cards using the coordinating stamps, punches and ink colours! I love when cards are inspired by nature- as I am an avid gardener and nature lover!
My husband and I – with our chocolate lab Marley, and our 23 year old cat Widget- live on a beautiful 2 acre piece of land just outside Ottawa. Every dog walk or stroll through my gardens draws me back to the beauty of our natural world and the many beautiful colour combinations in nature. Sometimes people ask me where I get my card ideas- well many times they are inspired by a walk around our gardens or the woods behind our house. That was the case for many of the cards I will highlight this week! In fact I have been so inspired by nature this week- I actually took the card photos on my back deck! Everything is so green and lush- the perfect backdrop!
Design Instructions:
Card Base- Crumb Cake (11 x 5 1/2)
Whisper White cardstock layer (4 x 5 1/4)
Stamp the whisper white piece in sahara sand ink using the birch background stamp.
Stamp the leaves and stem with mossy meadow ink.
Stamp a scrap of whisper white for the greeting and cut out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I used a greeting from the beautiful bouquet stamp set, but you can use any greeting you like.
For the flower I punched out 5 daisies using the large daisy punch and whisper white cardstock. The centre is made using 3 daisies punched out using the medium daisy punch and daffodil delight paper. I then used my paper snips to cut the yellow petals to give it the frayed look. I layered up the daisies using liquid glue. I adhered a gold gem to the middle. I then added it to the card using a dimensional. (This card would probably require extra postage to mail)
Use a glue dot to add a bow using the magnolia lane ribbon and your card is done!
